The Hanover Fire Department is a combination paid and volunteer department.

It operates with 1 tower ladder truck, 95 feet in height, and four pumpers each capable of pumping 1,000 gallons per minute. The 15 paid personnel are augmented by 2 companies of volunteers which provide the following services:

Eagle Fire Company #2 with 1 air cascade, mobile canteen unit, and 1 service lighting truck

Clearview Fire Company #3 with 1 salvage unit.

All  companies and career personnel are housed in two fire stations. The central station, Wirt Park, also houses a fire museum (Click here for information about the fire museum.)

The ambulance service is supplied by Penn Township Ambulance Club. The Ambulance Club is operated by both paid and volunteer personnel and housed at Wirt Park Station.
